On Friday, Leeds United confirmed that young striker Jay-Roy Grot would again leave Elland Road on a loan spell in the campaign of 2019/20 and his destination this time would be Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem.
The 21-year-old talent made the switch from Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen back in the summer of 2017 and he has four starts and 19 substitute showings to his name, with a return of one goal so far.
2018/19 saw him out with VVV-Venlo as he continued his development and it was a pretty decent spell, with 19 league starts and 14 substitute showings, and he did return six goals for them, so hopefully this spell will be another success and he’ll return next summer and more come into our first team thoughts.
Reacting to the news on social media, plenty of fans felt that a loan deal in this country would’ve been a better option as we’d have been able to judge his development better even if it was a spell in League One.
Should have been loaned somewhere in UK to see what he really can do

Surely a move to L1 would have been better for his development?

Could’ve given him a couple games in pre season at least. All the best to him though
