Marcelo Bielsa has never been shy to make big calls in his career and he has done the same at Leeds United already during his tenure here.

We saw some ruthlessness on display as a glut of players left the club whilst he was also confident enough to decide that we didn’t need many to come in.

Player selection, meanwhile, he’s kept Bailey Peacock-Farrell in goal despite the arrival of Jamal Blackman and Paul Robinson feels as though that is the right call to be making right now.

As quoted by LUTV, he said:

“I’m pleased that he’s stuck with Bailey in goal. I like what he did at the end of last year. He was given his chance last year and I’m really, really pleased.

“He brought the lad in from Chelsea but he’s not an obvious number one, but he’s given Bailey the number one shirt. I think he fully deserves it and I’d like to see him flourish.”

Certainly, BPF has done a good job so far and with Blackman only on loan it surely makes sense to try and get the keeper that is more likely to be at the club a while playing regularly.

That is what has happened so far, then, with both pushing the other for the number 1 spot this season.
