Former England Man Believes Leeds Starlet Is One Step Closer To Bielsa’s Prediction

|

Back in mid-September, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa used the phrase ‘complete player’ to describe on loan Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah and we all know the discussions that have gone on since about who should lead the front line at the club, given ongoing Patrick Bamford talk.

At the time that Bielsa made the comments, we’d just made the trip to Oakwell to face Barnsley and not only did the 20-year-old find the back of the net, he also won the penalty that Mats Klich put away to give us a 2-0 victory.

It was the England Under 21 internationals fourth goal for the club, and although he hasn’t found the net since for us, he had a great October international break, helping himself to a hattrick in the clash with Austria and former international skipper, Stuart Pearce, has lauded his talents whilst speaking to BT Sport this week, as he felt his overall performance had taken him one step closer to Bielsa’s description of his talents.

“Well, he has just added to the checklist from Bielsa about the complete player. He has just scored with his head now to go with the movement he has shown us already.”

A short and simple comment from Pearce, who might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but good strikers have two feet and a head and Leeds fans will be hoping we see more of it now we return to real football this weekend in the clash with Birmingham City.
