With Leeds United ultimately failing in our desire to return to the Premier League via either the automatic or Play-Off route in the Championship this season, the transfer rumour mill continues to be active in both and incoming and outgoing direction, but by far one of the most bizarre links of the summer so far was in mentioning Manchester City’s Fabian Delph as being a possible interest.
To save overly repeating the story, I’ll copy it in.
Let’s face it, there’s not a cat in hells chance of this deal coming off and even allowing for some deal to be struck on the transfer fee, even taking a pay cut that we could afford, it would likely still put Delph into a bracket that potentially caused problems with other players in the group – so it’s an absolute no go, and in fairness the original report from the Sun did reference we would be unlikely to spend £15million on a single player, but that didn’t stop them from making the link and as you’d expect these days, it certainly gained a reaction on social media.
Am I really seeing Leeds being linked with Delph? Can’t see how we afford that without losing Kalvin, and for that reason, I’m out. #lufc

Good shout. Let's blow 10% of annual turnover on one salary. Plus 15mn to sign him. Oh dear

Not for me, money needed to invest in other areas plus the crippling wages he would demand
