‘Flop and sold again next year’ – These Leeds fans react as £12m ace rejects Whites move

|

A few Leeds supporters have been reacting on social media lately after Goal suggested Ryan Kent had rejected our proposed loan deal.

Kent – who spent the past season with Rangers, scoring six goals in all competitions – is unlikely to have a first-team future with parent side Liverpool next term, and it is expected he will be sent out on loan again, with the Gers and us presenting our stadiums as potential destinations.

Aston Villa have also entered the race for his services, but the Reds could yet give the former England U20 international the chance of first-team football at Anfield he is craving for. They are, however, yet to reach that verdict, with it reported elsewhere that Jurgen Klopp will wait until pre-season training commences before making his final decision.

Pre-season may also be where the Oldham-born left-winger gets his chance to impress the German manager, with regular attackers Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino expected to be given a prolonged summer holiday following their Champions League success.

22-year-old Kent, though, has allegedly made it clear he would prefer to either spend the next year on Merseyside with Liverpool or leave the Premier League runners-up permanently, with Klopp’s side slapping a £12million asking price on their academy product.

If that is the case, we are likely out of the running for his services without a drastic change of position financially.

Here’s how these Leeds fans reacted to Goal’s understanding of Kent’s situation…
