Five Games In & Leeds Take Charge Of Top Spot – Match Stats

|

With a steady start to the 2019/20 Championship campaign for Leeds United and us already establishing ourselves in the upper reaches of the table, Saturday’s clash with Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium saw us open up a small gap in first place as we took another victory.

Goals from Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Patrick Bamford gave us another deserved three points, but unlike other games, with 21 chances overall, we tested their goalkeeper 10 times, which was much improved and would’ve no doubt delighted manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Fans would’ve been delighted to see more of Eddie Nketiah and Helder Costa as they made substitute appearances once more as well, and we even got some additional minutes under the belt of youngster Jamie Shackleton.

Still early doors in the campaign, but it’s an unbeaten opening with four wins from five matches and our goal difference stands at eight from our games so far, and that has to be pleasing.

Even if Swansea win in Sunday’s fixture, they can only draw level but goal difference should see us go into the next round of fixtures still in first place.
