Leeds United were pegged back once again with a 1-1 draw with the Championship strugglers Luton Town at Elland Road on Tuesday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were unable to capitalise against a side who have only won two of their last seven league games, despite going five points clear at the top of the table.
The Whites were ultimately frustrated as the Hatters’ shot-stopper Simon Sluga made a series of good saves to keep the table-toppers at bay. Ultimately, they paid the price five minutes into the second half as Harry Cornick gave the visitors a shock lead.
Stuart Dallas levelled the affair with just under half an hour to play but Luton’s stubborn defence prevented Leeds from scoring a winner.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay concluded the game on Twitter with a brief sentence and failed to hide his frustration after the full-time whistle.
It’s a point but you wanted three. That felt like harder work than it needed to be. A different game once Hernandez and Alioski came on and had enough late on to win it. #lufc

With 76% possession and with 23 shots on goal (as per Fotmob), it was only Leeds that looked like they were going to win the game at the end. But Hay is correct, it was much harder than it needed to be.
Fans will understandably target Patrick Bamford for not taking the opportunities that were presented to him, but credit must be given to the way that the Whites bounced back from going a goal behind.
Will Leeds still win the Championship?
Yes
No
It is tooth and nail time once again, with Marcelo Bielsa’s men still in the driving seat for their Premier League dream.
