It’s been a good year for Leeds United fans on a variety of fronts in the 2018/19 campaign, despite it ultimately ending in frustration and disappointment, but as we look ahead to 2019/20 with hopes for further improvement, when looking for the positives the continued growth of Jamie Shackleton has certainly been a plus point.

The 19-year-old versatile youngster was a mainstay in Carlos Corberan’s Under 23 success this year, and although plenty felt he deserved more starting action under manager Marcelo Bielsa in the senior squad, he did get seven starts in all competitions, with a further 17 substitute showings in the league campaign.

His performances against Derby County in the Play-Off Semi-Final saw him stand out as one of our shining lights and plenty of fans are hoping for a big year from him, with far more involvement next season.

The player himself took to Instagram after our disappointment, and fans will like his words.
