A few Leeds United fans have been lauding Mateusz Klich on social media, after LUFC Data shared a selection of the Poland midfielder’s accumulative stats over our last five Championship fixtures.
As has been the case throughout Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure at Elland Road, Klich has started each of our most recent second-tier matches as he continues to prove himself to be an integral aspect of the Argentine’s plans having yet missed an opening league squad since the boss’ arrival in 2018.
Bielsa did not feel the need to withdraw Klich from the action before the full-time whistle in four of our last five league games, either, and it is no wonder why when you look at the 23-cap ace’s accumulative stats recorded against Bristol City, Reading, Middlesbrough, Hull and Huddersfield Town.
Over his 443 minutes of football from a possible 450, Klich has registered a total 327 touches, found teammates with 203 of his 255 passes, made 98 successful passes in the final third, created 13 chances, assisted three goals, won 12 tackles, made 11 successful take-ons, fashioned eight shots and scored once.
Is Mateusz Klich under-rated?
Yes
No
His goal against Middlesbrough won us the game, while also assisting the only goal in our 1-0 win at home to the Robins and two of our four in the mauling of the Tigers.
Klich could even have had more assists to his name, having been credited with creating a big chance to score against Reading and Huddersfield.
Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to LUFC Data’s post reflecting on Klich’s recent performances…
Probably my player of the year so far… So under rated in what he does https://t.co/Ty9gIth3x8

He’s one of many that really stood up to be counted after MB had his rousing speech with the squad after the Forest match.
