“Oh come on”, “I hate that” – Loads of Leeds United fans react to Graham Smyth’s update

|

Loads of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media after the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth shared an update into the English Football League’s plans for the summer transfer window.

EFL clubs met earlier in the week to discuss potential amendments to the summer market, which slammed shut on August 8 last year so that no deals could be carried out once the 2019/20 Championship campaign had commenced.

The transfer window also closed for Premier League sides on August 8, though the top-flight has since reverted back to the traditional closing date of the end of August/early September, with the market closing this year on September 1 at 17:00.

EFL clubs have now agreed to follow suit with the Premier League and will also move the closing date back, which places all four professional English divisions in line with one another after League One and League Two opted against the earlier deadline.
