Lots of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media after the club shared that Luke Ayling had been named as the PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month for February.

Ayling received 51% of the votes cast, which saw the 28-year-old fend off Brentford forward Said Benrahma, Birmingham City’s Lukas Jutkiewicz, Derby County’s Tom Lawrence, Blackburn Rovers’ Christian Walton and Barnsley’s Cauley Woodrow for the gong.

Boss Marcelo Bielsa called on Ayling to start all of our fixtures held in February, which saw the London-born full-back record his second and third goals of the season before penning his fourth in last weekend’s West Yorkshire Derby win over Huddersfield Town.

Ayling has now started all 28 of our league games since his season began on October 1, having missed the opening months after taking a knock in pre-season which ultimately required surgery.

He took possession with six tackles against Brentford and seven against Middlesbrough, too, while recording three interceptions against the Bees and two at home to Reading.
