“Imagine how many people you will help” – Some Leeds fans react to club post

Lots of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media after the club announced that they had made a donation of food to a local charity amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The club are working alongside local charity Holbeck Together to support some of the most vulnerable people in the community during what is an unpredicted time in modern history.

Chief Executive Angus Kinnear and Rob Smyth, the General Manager at Elland Road, visited Holbeck Together on Wednesday in response to the growing number of people needing help and support getting food and essential items.

The donation made included pies, meat, vegetables, desserts and a number of other provisions that will be grouped into packages ready to be distributed to those most in need.

“To see what some people, not just in our local community but across the world, are going through at this time is devastating and of course as a club we will try to help those that we can,” Smyth told the club’s official website.

“We have taken some food packages to Holbeck Together this afternoon and to know that this food will help to support people that are really struggling at the moment is really important, we will continue to support them where possible during this difficult period.”
