‘Fans just dream of a Messi type character’ – These Leeds fans have been discussing 22-year-old’s first team chances

|

Leeds United fans on the NOT606 forum are starting to run short of patience with Izzy Brown after the on-loan Chelsea youngster again failed to make his Whites debut at the weekend.

The 22-year-old has missed most of the season getting over his cruciate ligament rupture and the following hamstring strain and niggling injuries, but has been fit to play for the past few weeks.

Being considered fit to play means we are now paying a percentage of his Blues’ wage, as the deal to bring the former England youth international to West Yorkshire prevented us from shelling out when he could not feature.

Brown has regularly been featuring for the U23s of late and has been awarded a spot on the bench for the past three Championship games, as well, all without coming on at some point in the game.

Saturday could have been the perfect game to hand the midfielder his senior Whites debut, as only Pablo Hernandez, Mateusz Klich and Patrick Bamford were able to create a key pass in the second half out of the attacking players.

Another game watching on without any chance of getting on earnt these views on the NOT606 forum…

“I saw only 75 minutes of Saturday game and it was poor. Don’t care at this point of season as only thing that matters are the points. Brown not playing cos not good enough yet. Maybe he will be at some point.” – EireLeeds1 (February 25, 08:22)

“Leeds deserved to win. Brown is obviously not ready, he is on the bench because we have a small squad as is the case with some of the U23’s, crazy situation where you have seven subs on the bench & the chances are Bielsa is only going to use two” – 1964White (February 25, 08:43)

“Adam Pope I remember said that Brown was paid per game, surely that’s not the reason he isn’t playing?” – Eric Le Merde (February 25, 08:54)

“Maybe Bielsa doesn’t think he’s good enough. He sees him every day whereas the fans just dream of a Messi type character.” – EireLeeds1 (February 25, 09:30)

“We started paying for Brown (% of his wage) weeks ago as he is now classed as fully fit and able to turn out for the first team. He has played plenty of U23 games now and has scored 6 goals. Bielsa is either saving him for emergencies or feels he needs to get stronger.” – Doc (February 25, 09:33)

“Brown can play as many U23 games that he likes, but the only way he’s going to get match sharpness is to play first-team football imo.” – EllandBack (February 25, 09:55)

“With some of the tackles flying in on Saturday it may not have been the right baptism for him. Knowing our luck he’d have been injured straight away.” – FollowMe&LeedsUnited (February 25, 10:31)

“You can only assume Bielsa is hoping to be 3-0 up before bringing him on.” – Ristac (February 25, 14:46)
