Having joined Leeds United on a season-long loan spell for the entire 2018/19 Championship campaign, Chelsea goalkeeper Jamal Blackman has been settling in at the club and getting used to his new colleagues in recent weeks.

Fans have even seen him take to the pitch as he builds his fitness and sharpness ahead of the coming season, and recently he was mildly busy in the friendly against Oxford United.

Blackman was a second-half substitute in the game that saw us lose 4-3 at the Kassam Stadium, but he did only concede to Jon Obika. The 24-year-old former England youth international must have been pleased with one photo in particular from the tie though as he decided to take to social media with it to entertain and engaged with his new, albeit maybe only, temporary fanbase.

Clearly, the stopper intended it as tongue in cheek, but it didn’t take some fans too long at all to take their best attempts at ripping him, even if it was good natured. Although I do wonder if he misheard the news that Mars was at its closest, but then again I’m amazed nobody encouraged him to get closer to it that than in the future.

My personal recommendation when he keeps his first clean sheet for us would be ‘I can see the pub from here!’.
