The FA have confirmed they are liasing with Police following the tunnel incident immediately after the Burnley match.

‘The FA are investigating reports of an incident that occurred in the tunnel immediately after Burnley’s match with Leeds on Saturday. We are currently studying the referee’s report and are liasing with police before deciding if there is any action to take.’

Cotterill said:

‘If I find any of my boys are guilty then they’ll be for it. We won’t condone that sort of thing.

Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell told their official site:

‘The position is that Steve Cotterill has a situation to deal with and I am prepared to let him do that because he has assured me he will do and I am prepared to take his word for it. There was an altercation but I never saw it because I had already gone into the changing rooms. It is likely to go before the FA so I do not want to say too much. It was an incident that has no place in football and I spoke to Steve, his staff saw what went on I am sure they will deal with it. Leeds were totally the innocent party here and it is a problem for Burnley to sort out. It’s Burnley’s problem and Steve Cotterill assures me he will sort it out, and I’ll take him at his word. The referee saw what went on and I’m going to let him deal with it’.
