FA charge is a problem, but there is a positive to take from it

The international break is over and it won’t be long until the Whites are travelling over the Pennines and heading for Ewood Park to face Blackburn.

Though there has been little domestic action to speak of in the last week or so, the Whites are never far from the headlines and so that has proven in recent days.

The fallout from the Brentford game has been significant and Pontus Jansson, of course, was charged for his post-match comments about the officiating.

And, whilst that is a problem, there is also a positive to take from it too.

Jansson, last season, looked out of sorts and, frankly, lacked the fire we saw from him in 16/17 that helped take us so close to the play-offs.

Last year, then, he might not have produced such comments but, equally, we much prefer the on-the-edge version we’ve got back.

Yes, he might get in trouble with the FA and we need to avoid that but if it means his best version is back, we have some consolation at least.
