Explained: Which Leeds player is one yellow card away from receiving a one-match ban?

|

Ezgjan Alioski will be walking the tightrope for Leeds United against Queens Park Rangers as he’s one booking away from receiving a one-match ban. The 27-year-old has four yellow cards to his name and must last until November 30 without being cautioned otherwise Marcelo Bielsa will lose him for one game.

Alioski picked up his first booking in the 35th minute against Brentford (August 21). His second booking came in the 21st minute against Swansea City (August 31). The North Macedonian’s third booking came in the 18th minute against West Bromwich Albion (October 1). His fourth booking came in the 42nd minute against Birmingham City (October 19).

The 27-year-old been walking the tightrope for two weeks and needs to behave for another month to avoid suspension. Unfortunately, history suggests Alioski may struggle – he picked up six yellow cards in 2017/18 and nine in 2018/19.

This season, the defender has given away 15 fouls in 13 Championship appearances, averaging one every 64 minutes. Alioski has attempted 40 tackles and been dribbled past on 17 occasions (42%). Despite his quality going forward, he might be an accident waiting to happen against QPR. Time will tell.
