There were some negatives to come from Leeds United’s Championship clash against Queens Park Rangers, but the positives for most fans far outweighed those.
Individual performances from many players, the rare appearance of a penalty and a refereeing decision in our favour – on top of that there was the performance of youngster Jamie Shackleton who again impressed many with his showing at right-back.

The 19-year-old Academy graduate has long been highly rated at the club, and he’s featured pretty regularly for manager Marcelo Bielsa in the season of 2018/19, making ten appearances in total for us so far this campaign.
With Stuart Dallas, Gaetano Berardi and Luke Ayling all out injured and continuing their recoveries, Shackleton is certainly doing all the right things to make the position his own, at least for now.
Fearless. Fantastic stamina. And he's the kind of direct threat a Pablo would want as his full back. Dallas struggles to beat him man on overlap but Shacks seems bullheaded.

He's a cracking player no doubt about it. He's about 3 foot 2 and winning aerial duels too lol. Belter. Like the other person said, be great to see him and Clarke on the right, what a prospect that is!

Really taking his chance to impress

He looked a natural right back, would love to see him and Clarke down the right wing. The time will come.

Best option we have at RB when Ayling is injured in my opinion. Fits the attacking model of the team far better than any others who've played in that position lately.

5ft nothing and winning aerial battles! Lovely stuff! Refreshing to see the energy and fearlessness of our youth players!

As the above comments imply by fans who took to social media to praise his efforts, they certainly couldn’t find fault.
He won’t suddenly become an ever-present, especially when others are back and fit, but it’s certainly going to do his development the world of good as we look to the future.
