David Prutton has been praising Marcelo Bielsa in his latest Yorkshire Evening Post column with him saying that the Argentinian is already having a massive impact.
Bielsa will obviously want to move on quickly from his Manager of the Month award and earn another one soon but he’ll be more focused on the long-term and winning the league.
We’ve made a good start, though, with the players responding brilliantly to his methods and it is clear that Prutton feels that’s because they are aware of the size of the opportunity they’ve got.
Indeed, he reckons that it’s a once in a career opportunity to work under him for them and they are naturally eager to grasp it with both hands.
“If you’ve got anything about you, you look at playing under Bielsa as a once-in-a-career experience. He might never work in England again, let alone with any of the players in this Leeds squad, and you get the sense of everyone buying into the project.”
Without doubt, you can sense Prutton is right.
Bielsa is a massive name in the game and the biggest manager we have had for years. The players have to relish this chance.
