David Stockdale is clearly a player we want to sign this summer but, so far, we’ve been frustrated in our efforts to get him in.

The goalkeeper has been told that he can leave Birmingham City this window by former Leeds boss Garry Monk.

Garry, though, has decided that despite that he still wants to play hard-ball and it’s clear that he is going to make it tough for us to get the stopper in.

As quoted by Birmingham Live, he said:

“All the players I don’t see in terms of going forward have been told, David is one of them. It’s for him to find the right solution to himself.

“But it’s got to suit the club as well, it has always got to be on our terms. If the club feels it’s the right package then the club will do it.”

The Verdict

He can be a bit of a funny character can Monk at times.

How can you tell someone they are free to leave and then decide that, actually, you’re going to make it hard for that to happen?

By all means, I respect that the Blues have to make some money but, at the same time, it’s not exactly worth mucking around for anyone involved.

Let’s see what happens.
