So, that’s that over with.
In one of those bizarre ‘I didn’t know he was still with us’ sort of moments, Vurnon Anita left Elland Road yesterday by mutual consent after a spell that was, shall we say less than memorable.
The fact that the club just straight up allowed him to leave ‘by mutual consent’ just shows how bad his time was at in Yorkshire if nobody was willing to pay any money for him.
The Dutchman signed for Leeds back in 2017 and he went on to make 22 appearances for the Whites in all competitions, failing to score a single goal or provide an assist. He did spend last season on loan at Dutch side Willem II, but obviously his performances there weren’t enough to convince Marcelo Bielsa to keep him around.
Those figures are probably a good indicator as to why these Leeds fans weren’t exactly enthusiastic when it came to discussing his release. There were one or two who were in the same boat as me by the looks of it.
What he was still getting a wage?!????♂️

Seemed like a good deal when we signed him. Shame.

In total hindsight a signing that should never have happened

I wonder who’s going to be the next player we release that you didn’t know we still had.
