Today it was announced that the 2015 Rugby Union World Cup would go to Great Britain.
Leeds United`s Elland Road stadium will be one of the venues to be used.
Other football stadiums that will be used are Southampton’s St. Mary`s Stadium, Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, Newcastle`s St. James’ Park, Coventry’s Ricoh Arena as well as Anfield, Old Trafford, Wembley and several rugby stadiums.
With tickets costing a third of what they would cost United fans to see a normal football match in Elland Road big crowds should be expected for the tournament.
The successful bid could push even greater, the expansion of Elland Roads capacity as well as the proposed facilities in place.
