Barcelona have come back with another offer for Leeds United’s talented winger according to Ekrem Konur via Twitter.

The saga continues, and now it seems like Barcelona have come back in again with another bid of €55m, which is closer to Leeds valuation for the Brazilian. Raphinha has his heart set on Barca, and it has looked like he would wait for them to get their house in order so he can move to the Spanish giants. Since the season ended it had looked like Spain was his preferred destination but Barcelona couldn’t meet the demands set by the Yorkshire club.

Chelsea had a bid accepted from Leeds, but the 25 year old didn’t want the move to London, just as the Charles De Keteleare situation with Leeds and Club Brugge has played out.  Both Barcelona with Raphinha, and Leeds with De Keteleare have been persistent with their approaches, and bids have been accepted from both clubs.  It was also believed that Raphinha and his agent Deco, had agreed personal terms with the Spanish club.

Arsenal were briefly in the race for Raphinha’s signature but seemed like they wouldn’t go above their initial bid, believed to be around £35m.  There were rumours of Tottenham Hotspur showing an interest as well, although no official bid had been placed.  It looked like Leeds were waiting on the situation before they make any further moves in the transfer market, but are rumoured to readying an improved offer for De Keteleare in the coming days. Jesse Marsch had hinted Leeds are actively seeking a striker and that would be business finished at Elland Road.

It remains to be seen if The Whites can tempt the Belgium International into a switch to the Premier League ahead of interest from AC Milan, or if they need the sale of Raphinha to raise funds to complete their squad.

Everyone involved in the Raphinha deal seems to have been getting increasingly frustrated and it looked as though it would end in a stalemate and the Brazilian would remain at Leeds for the time being.  Now Barcelona have rekindled their interest, could the Leeds winger actually be set for his dream move to Spain?
