After a mixed start to the season, Leeds United got themselves up and running with back to back victories over Fulham and Sheffield United, but today’s encounter with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side was always going to be a different prospect.
With plenty of respect between Pep and Argentine genius Marcelo Bielsa, it was always going to be interesting from a tactical point of view but understandably City started the brighter, creating chances, and took the lead 17 minutes in.
1-0 at the half time break but there was good improvement in the second half and the chances starting coming our way – although there was certainly some good fortune to our equaliser as Ederson had an absolute mare and Rodrigo opened his account for the season.
Chances kept coming for City, but they did for us as well and we even hit the woodwork but come the full time whistle, there was no further breakthrough for either side so we take a very good point.
We’d have taken that ahead of the game wouldn’t we.
