Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘Don’t think he’s the right player for us’ – Some Leeds fans react to eight-figure transfer claim

|

Some Leeds supporters have been reacting on social media after The Sun claimed United want to keep Manchester City-owned winger Jack Harrison beyond his season-long loan, but a permanent deal would set the Whites back an astonishing £20million.

Harrison featured in all but one of our Championship ties in the recently concluded campaign, including the Play-Offs, and his efforts at Elland Road are thought to have alerted City to the payday they can now demand if anyone wants to sign the 22-year-old.

We are not alone in sounding out the possibilities of a move, either, as The Sun add that a number of Premier League sides and top teams from across Europe have already held initial talks with the Etihad Stadium outfit.

United are also said to have shown an interest in another season-long loan deal, too – probably after finding out City’s asking price – but Pep Guardiola’s outfit are less inclined to agree to a temporary move as they feel they could make between £15m and £20m if they were to sell him now.

Harrison’s season with us was alright, but by no means was strong enough to warrant such a price tag, as the former England U21 international only managed to score four goals and assist a further four across all competitions – a goal involvement rate, either through himself or as an assist, of one every 368.5 minutes.

That may be why so many supporters on Reddit think Victor Orta should look elsewhere for someone who can offer Marcelo Bielsa the same sort of skillset…
