Dominant Leeds Get Their Reward Against Newcastle – Match Stats

|

It’s been a disappointing December so far for Leeds United with back to back defeats to Chelsea and then West Ham United, but tonights clash with a poor (albeit very lucky) Newcastle United side was the perfect chance to change that and get back to winning ways.

It was a livelier start from the visitors than I expected, but we were soon on the front foot and dictating possession and creating chances. However, Newcastle scored first.

Patrick Bamford had us back on level terms 35 minutes in and it was all us…but 1-1 at the break.

The second half was certainly unexpected and it was 2-1 just after the hour mark as Rodrigo added his name to the scoresheet. Newcastle then levelled themselves, but further goals from Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison gave us a comfortable and deserved 5-2 victory.
