From memory, Leeds United were linked with Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Iturraspe back in the January transfer window, but nothing came of those links obviously.
His parent club have confirmed that the 30-year-old will now be leaving them come the summer, so with the former Spanish international’s future up in doubt, it’s not a great surprise to see him linked with a move to Leeds once again given the fact he’s previously played under manager Marcelo Bielsa.
Athletic confirmed themselves that he would be moving on come the summer as no contract extension would be offered, so he will be available as a free agent.
Outlet AS reported back in March that we were continuing to keep our eye on him and obviously, the rumour mill would be letting itself down if he wasn’t also linked to a few others clubs, like Getafe.
From our point of view though if this next round of speculation seems to gain traction and look likely to go ahead over the summer, it will be a massive indication of Bielsa’s own future I would think.
