A Che Adams brace gave Birmingham City a 2-1 victory at Elland Road at the weekend as Leeds United fell to their first Championship defeat of the season and our unbeaten run went up in smoke.
Ezgjan Alioski’s late goal wasn’t enough to bring us back into the game in terms of taking a point from the tie, but it really isn’t the time for doom and gloom as most appreciated the unbeaten run wouldn’t go on forever and the visitors under Garry Monk were very organised given our possession of the goal.
That is a result of everyone’s hard work and persistence. Beautiful
Especially pleased for all the lads who give everything to the @BCFC cause.
A club together in every sense.
Thanks to the fans for all your support and remember to KRO!! ????⚪️ #spirit #graft— James Beattie (@1jamesbeattie) September 22, 2018
Taking to social media following the game to vent about the result, a few Leeds fans weren’t content with their organisation and instead pointed to the time-wasting employed and the theatrics on show.
A club together in cheating.

It’s hard spending most of the time laying on the floor, walking off the pitch and feigning injury. Well done on your hard work guys ???????? ???????? ????????

If you’re coaching laying on the floor and cheating then you did a ‘beautiful’ job. Well done.

Sorry and this isn't sour grapes, your team had a game plan, it worked but I don't think you will be above us at the end of the season, and Gardner the big player he is must be ashamed of himself, what a play actor.

Disgrace of a club. Never in my life seen playacting / time wasting of that level. Embarrassment to the game…

Sadly it’s irrelevant. Teams will do that and dare I say Leeds have done similar in the past – all clubs do. With the spirit on show and fighting back from being behind against Millwall, for example, more recently, what it proves is Leeds need a more effective Plan B in the future.
With better finishing, we would’ve come out of the game with something to show for our efforts but even being generous, if the comments weren’t meant to come over as sour grapes – they do – we can’t use that as an excuse, we have to use it as a lesson to be better.
It’s still early days under manager Marcelo Bielsa despite our levels so far, dealing with that type of opponent is part of the process and our development.
Nothing more, nothing less.
