Disappointment For Leeds But I Think Few Can Argue With Man Of The Match

Leeds United came unstuck in this weekend’s clash with newly promoted Blackburn Rovers and we did, unfortunately, miss the chance to return to the summit of the Championship table given our early kickoff on the day.

The hosts took the lead twice, with Mats Klich leveller for us in first-half stoppage time but we just couldn’t find that second break through to take a point – a points the stats say we were entitled to given our possession.

Not for the first time this season since injuries hit though, despite creating ample efforts at goal, getting only six on target shows where our main problems are.

Having got the goal on the day Klich was rightly acknowledged by WhoScored as our Man of the Match in recognition of his performance and our top five on the day saw Liam Cooper receive 7.24 as a rating, Samu Saiz 6.99, Kalvin Phillips 6.94 and Bailey Peacock-Farrell 6.71.

Whilst the day didn’t go for us, with a number of previously injured players returning and getting valuable minutes under their belts to increase both fitness and competitive sharpness, there are still positives many can and will take from the game – although the frustration will overwhelm some as they react in the moment.
