Michael Cuisance is set to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move from Bayern Munich to Leeds United, with a fee now agreed between the two clubs, a report from The Daily Mail has claimed.

Leeds have been after a midfielder to bolster their ranks following promotion to the Premier League, and it now looks as though they have got their man.

According to the latest reports, Cuisance is set to have a medical with Leeds on Wednesday, before officially completing his move to Elland Road.

It is thought that Leeds will pay the German champions £18million for the services of the French youth international, who only joined Bayern from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Monchengladbach for a reported £9million last summer.

Bayern are also said to have negotiated a buy back clause in Cuisance’s contract with Leeds, although it remains to be seen how much last season’s Champions League winners would have to pay to bring the midfielder back at some point in the future.

This certainly feels like an exciting update from a Leeds United perspective.

You only have to look at the reaction of Bayern fans online to news of Cuisance’s departure, to see that the Whites are getting a player who could be a huge asset for them down the line.

Indeed, this deal means they are getting the cover in midfield that they have been after this summer, and buying a player from a club the size of Bayern Munich to do that feels like a big statement of intent.

It will be intriguing to see what sort of an impact Cuisance makes at Elland Road, but the fact that Bayern have been adamant on including a buy-back clause as part of the deal, suggests they are expecting big things from the 21-year-old, which is encouraging for the Championship title winners.
