“Deserved To Win” – Bielsa Happy As Leeds Return To The Top Of The Table

|

With a fortnight lull in the fixture list owing to the September international break, Leeds United quickly got back to winning ways on Sunday as we made the trip to Oakwell to face Barnsley.

Having suffered defeat to Swansea City ahead of the break, another solid performance eventually saw goals come from on loan Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah who opened the scoring in the 86th minute, and a late 89th minute penalty from Mats Klich, tied the game up at 2-0.

With all three points returned, Leeds jumped back to the top of the Championship table and our advantage is goal difference at this moment in time.

Speaking to the media following the early kickoff, manager Marcelo Bielsa said our efforts on the day meant we more than ‘deserved’ to take the victory.

Onto Derby County next as we renew that acquaintance after last season, let’s see how the press stoke that one!
