Derby’s Ready Made Excuses Get Their Moment As Leeds Take The Win – Match Stats

|

Leeds United welcomed sixth placed Derby County to Elland Road for tonight’s promotion clash in the Championship.

With the game being given extra spice over the last 24 or so hours given the claims that suggested a Leeds United employee was ‘spying’ on Frank Lampard’s final training sessions ahead of the tie, the game was set to be a cracker of some sort – especially as manager Marcelo Bielsa fronted up and admitted it ahead of the tie.

We were also boosted ahead of the game as both Pablo Hernandez and Liam Cooper were passed fit for the match, but whatever the final result, the headlines were already secured.

A goal in the 20th minute from Kemar Roofe set us underway and Jack Garrison made it 2-0 a few minutes into the second half, but most fans will have walked out of Elland Road knowing exactly what our ‘spy’ told the gaffer – “nothing to worry about, they are crap!”

It was an easy win and three points for Leeds so binoculars at the ready for the next one.
