Lots of Leeds fans fired up over a potential new move at the club
There’s a lot of debate to be had about how big a role a captain of a football team should play.
Do you think there’s any legitimate added importance to being a captain, other than being the one to talk to the referee? (A rule that kind of gets ignored anyway). Rangers boss Steven Gerrard said last December, and it’s a theory I personally tend to agree with, that he wants 11 captains on his team.
So should there really be much emphasis put on who leads the team out?
With Marcelo Bielsa saying yesterday that captain Liam Cooper is a doubt for tonight’s game against Brentford, it got a lot of Leeds fans talking about who should take the captains armband for the game.
There was a suggestion from @AllDayLUFC that local boy and boyhood Leeds fan Kalvin Phillips should be given the honour tonight and that really seemed to get the debate going.
So if Cooper is out of the game tomorrow, who will be made captain?
Is it time for captain Phillips already? ????#LUFC pic.twitter.com/QKQQrxcjb0

Although as these fans pointed out, the club probably has alternative plans in place.
Pablo is our VC isn’t he? Tho I’d maybe like to see Dallas.

It will be Pablo if that’s the case

At the end of the day, Bielsa said that Cooper was a doubt for tonight, not that he was completely ruled out, so this could all be for nothing, but at least it’s good to have a debate about these things once in a while.
Where do you stand on the issue?
