Leeds United’s captain America is on international duty in Qatar and has been the recipient of huge praise ahead of the Group B game against England tonight.

As per LeedsLive, The former Manchester City loanee and Rangers left-back has been speaking about the USA’s chances in their second group game against the three lions at the Al Bayt Stadium tonight and has highlighted Tyler Adams as the key man and possibly the one to upset Gareth Southgate and his lions. Leeds United’s Adams was a colossus in the middle of the park when the USA played out a 1-1 draw with Wales in the first round of games earlier in the week and they were unlucky to not take all three points, only a Gareth Bale late penalty stopping them from claiming a precious victory.

In England, the 23-year-old has quickly become a fan favourite at Elland Road with his fantastic performances and dogged displays in the centre of the pitch. He is a strong, tough-tackling midfielder, which is just the cup of tea for those in West Yorkshire. Now the former RB Leipzig man has started to gain attention from fans and pundits alike on the biggest stage in the world.

Beasley, speaking on talkSPORT said, “You look at our captain, he’s 23 years old, the youngest captain in the World Cup, He came from one of the academies in MLS. He’s huge!”

“He was the Man of the Match by far (against Wales), Tyler Adams from Leeds was phenomenal. Phenomenal. He’s going to be so important against England.”

Leeds duo Brenden Aaronson and Adams will be hoping to pull off a major upset at the World Cup when they face an England side coming off the back of a fantastic 6-2 win against Iran in their opener. The three lions have injury doubts over key players with Harry Kane being the biggest worry after the striker had to have a scan on an ankle injury he sustained in the opening game. If England win this one they are all but guaranteed a place in the knockout stages and will have the luxury of resting a few players ahead of their third match against Wales. If the USA are to claim the three points and indeed advance to the knockout stages, they would face one of the top two teams in Group A, which includes The Netherlands, Ecuador, Senegal and host nation Qatar.

Can the Leeds duo cause an upset against England?

Yes, definitely!
