‘Class’, ‘what a player’: These two men take the plaudits as Leeds get off to flying start

So here we are, up and running in the new campaign.

Leeds got off to the perfect start yesterday, as they beat Bristol City 3-1 at Ashton Gate.

Having missed out on promotion last season in such dramatic fashion, it was important for United to get off to a good start, showing that there wasn’t any ‘hangover’ from that defeat. It was also a chance for them to put to bed any notion that the way Marcelo Bielsa handled pre-season would end up hurting them. Thanks for that guys, always had faith in you.

So how did the victory go down on social media?

Most of Leeds’ fans reaction was ironically focused on the two positions that they’ve spent the majority of the summer complaining about. With the sale of Pontus Jansson and the seemingly imminent departure of Kemar Roofe, social media has been rife with fans demanding that the club spend some money to replace them. Although, they were screaming for a new forward before the Roofe rumours came through.

Well it looks as if they could be just fine with what they’ve got at the moment as new signing Ben White and Patrick Bamford, scorer of the second goal, came in for the most praise amongst the Elland Road faithful in the aftermath of the victory.
