Leeds United have confirmed that the South Stand at Elland Road will be named in honour of Norman Hunter after the former player passed away last week.
The 76-year-old was an integral part of the club’s most successful era, helping the Whites to a First Division title and the 1972 FA Cup among other trophies during a 14-year spell, whilst Hunter was also part of the England squad in 1966 that won the World Cup.
With all that in mind, the centre-back was an iconic figure at the football club and Leeds revealed this morning that the end behind the goal would be known as the Norman Hunter Stand moving forward.

As you would expect, this classy gesture went down very well with the support who are delighted to see the club pay tribute to such a popular figure in this way.
