Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen says the club will only achieve something if they stay together.

Christiansen was speaking ahead of the trip to league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night with the side going into the game buoyed by their win against Middlesbrough at the weekend.

The win against Middlesbrough ended a run of three straight defeats.

As well as losing three games in a row, Leeds had gone into the Middlesbrough game having won just one of their previous seven games, a run that had seen Leeds drop from the top of the Championship and into mid table.

Despite the poor run, Christiansen feels the squad have always stayed together and he is now hoping that the win against Middlesbrough can be taken into the game at Wolverhampton.

“Everything was very positive on Sunday and we have to bring this into the next game against Wolves,” Christiansen told the Leeds official website.

“It was an important win for me, but also very important for the players who did a very good job on the pitch, understood the message and delivered.

“The togetherness we have at this club has always been there in the good moments and the bad moments, the only way to survive or to achieve something is by staying together.”

League leaders Wolverhampton come into the game having won their last three games without conceding and they have dropped just five points at home so far this season from their nine games, winning seven.

Leeds travel to Molineux on Wednesday evening looking for a third straight win at Wolverhampton. Last season, an own goal by Silvio ensured Leeds returned to West Yorkshire with all three points.
