Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen believes if his team continue the way they have been playing recently, they will pick up a lot of points.

Leeds were denied a third win in four games since the international break when Aston Villa scored a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw.

The return to form and hard work from the squad, is a upturn after a run of five defeats in six games prior to the international break, a run that had seen Leeds drop out of the automatic promotion places and in to mid-table.

Leeds finished the weekend five points off a play-off place in eighth place and Christiansen is backing his players ahead of a busy month.

“I can see the team spirit with how we have performed in the last four games,” Christiansen told the Leeds official website.

“We showed against one of the strongest teams in the league (Aston Villa), that we are at the same level and we could have come out of this game with three points.

“We will move on to QPR now next week, I believe if we can continue in this way, we will be able to pick up a lot of points.”

Leeds now face six games in the space of 23-day, three at home and three away starting at Queens Park Rangers next weekend. Home games with Norwich City and Hull City will follow ahead of the busy festive period when they travel to Burton Albion and Birmingham City before starting the New Year with a home clash against Nottingham Forest.

A run of good form now, could see Leeds right back in the play-off mix and with the January transfer window then opening, in a position to strengthen for the second half of the season.
