Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen is looking to end the first half of the season on a high ahead of the busy festive period.

Leeds have home games against Norwich City and Hull City in the next week to take them up to the halfway point of the season. Leeds started the season well, leading the table in September but a poor autumn saw them drop out of the top ten in the division. Leeds have improved since returning from the international break in November and they come into the game against Norwich having picked up ten points from a possible fifteen.

The win at Queens Park Rangers last weekend lifted Leeds back up to seventh in the Championship table and Christiansen wants maximum points from the next two games ahead of three games in six days over the festive period.

“Over the festive period we need to take it one game at a time and of course try to add three points after each one and it is our aim to do that, but we know it will be tough,” Christiansen told the Leeds official website.

“There are many games and no rest and this is why we will need all of the squad during this time.

“We will be going for maximum points in our next two home games, which for sure would help us get closer to our final target for the season.

“We will finish the first half of the season with these two home games and afterwards we have the whole second half to go again.”

Leeds have trips to Burton Albion and Birmingham City after Christmas before welcoming Nottingham Forest to Elland Road for the first game in 2018 on New Year`s Day.

Leeds are currently four points off a play-off place.
