Speaking to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has said that he’d like to sort a permanent deal for Tyler Denton.

The young defender joined the Posh earlier this summer on loan from our club, of course, though some of us felt that we should have perhaps kept hold of him.

Indeed, he does have some talent and it appears as though his current loan club would be open to trying to keep him on a more permanent basis.

MacAnthony said:

“Tyler Denton was one that came up and the gaffer [Steve Evans] knows well. I’m really glad we did that deal. I’ve already said to Tyler that down the line, maybe we could sign you and that could happen.”

Typically, these are comments from an owner who is more than happy to talk about transfers openly.

That is not always a bad thing, either, but I do think that he should perhaps have kept this one quiet or at least discussed with our club – if he hasn’t already.

Denton is a player I’d like to see get a chance for us in the future but it would now seem that we’ve got a fight on our hands.
