The rumours have been around for a while, and persist, as out-of-favour striker Derek Riordan is linked with a League One move.

The whispers had begun last month regarding Riordan, who is well behind the likes of the short-named Jan Venegoor of Hesselink, and Manchester City flop Georgios Samaras in the pecking order, and a move south of the border appears to be on the cards.

It is believed that Leeds United may well have made a bid of approx £500,000 for the former Hibernian striker, an amount that if Vital Celtic is anything to go by, may need to be doubled if Gary McAllister still wishes to sign the player. The guys at Vital Celtic have announced that Championship Side Burnley are another club that are interested in the players services, as the Bhoys sniff around the Turf Moor hero Kyle Lafferty.

Just another striker link, following on from Kevin Phillips it appears that the fringe strikers at Elland Road (Kandol, Constantine and perhaps even Elding) have a limited future in the white shirts of Leeds United.
