The Whites have got just over a month to confirm whether they want to sign Jerry Mbakogu this summer or not.
The Carpi forward is a man we’ve all become familiar with in the last few weeks thanks to him being linked heavily with the club.
Indeed, it looks as though we have got a deal lined-up for him but there is a bit of a delay in the Whites actually pushing it over the line.
The ball is in our court it seems but, as per Phil Hay’s tweet, we’ve only got until the end of June to actually convert things into a signing:
Carpi president says Leeds United have until June 30 to confirm the signing of Jerry Mbakogu with Leeds delaying on pushing the transfer through:https://t.co/JXtP9DuCo6

Let’s take a look at the reaction to that:
what’s your view on #lufc signing a player that 1. is too old to be promising,2. is not promising.3. performed average-to-poor in a struggling serie b side, 4. is repped by Football Capital. Rads’ former company. Currently owned and run by Rads’ amico. If deal goes thru: suspect?

simple answer is that he looks like a lot of signings that have failed over the past three or four years.

This Carpi president loves talking about big Jerry. Seems like he’s almost desperate to get rid…

No rush eh?

Looking forward to Abel Hernandez signing for Wolves and us ending up with this clown.

The thing is we, as a club (that has a brilliant history) need to show we mean business and actually buy a well established striker even though it costs us £10 or £11 m… Otherwise we have to be content with the same kind of season we’ve just seen for the forseeable future.

Why are carpi so keen to get rid? Apart from the money of course!
— Paul Baker (@Bakerboy75Paul) May 22, 2018
Can’t we just bail out now?

DON’T ANSWER THE CALLS, RADZ! ACT LIKE THE TV LICENCE VAN IS OUTSIDE. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, FAKE YOUR DEATH!

Now’s our chance to pull the plug on this waste of money deal

The Verdict
I get the feeling that, right now, we’re not as keen on getting him as we were.
The likes of Abel Hernandez has apparently become a target since and it looks as though this guy might now be the back-up.
Certainly, you can see where this is going…
