Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban headed out of Elland Road on a late loan deal to Turkish side Trabzonspor prior to the transfer window slamming shut at the end of last month and with few fans critical of the 24-year-old’s work rate and endeavour, his goal return was less than impressive and he only found the back of the net twice for us in 21 appearances.
His Turkish adventure has certainly started brightly though as last Saturday he made his substitute bow for Trabzonspor as they took to the pitch to face Galatasaray and Ekuban more than played his part in helping them to a 4-0 victory on the day as he hit their fourth two minutes into stoppage time at the end of the game.
The loan deal can be made permanent next summer and with the expectation being that his time with us is over unless he can show some real form in front of the net during the spell, a section of fans were absolutely delighted when they found out he’d scored.
Great to see Ekuban scoring, great work rate but couldn’t hit the net for Leeds maybe start of a run of goals-MOT https://t.co/Bu1WqdaKTS

I’ll take Ekuban being Ekuban all last season, just so he could go out on loan to score against Galatasaray. #LUFC https://t.co/tRNIagp4IS

If that was a parting gift, it seems a number of fans will gladly take it.
