Busy Week For Leeds Sees Another Arrival – “It Was A No Brainer”

|

It’s been a busy week for Leeds United fans as following on from all the speculation, Monday saw the arrivals of Liam McCarron, Jack Harrison and Ben White. Tuesday saw confirmation of Jack Clarke’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur come through, as well as the expected loan back for the 2019/20 Championship campaign.

What will Wednesday bring – most hope Helder Costa.

With plenty of speculation about Clarke’s move this summer and plenty of unfair criticism bizarelly coming the clubs way over the deal, most fans have already given their seal of approval and will no doubt welcome the 18-year-old talent back with open arms.

Speaking to the Official Site as his transfer and then return was confirmed, the young winger clearly thought it was a no brainer as he knows himself he has plenty of development left to do and he definitely has to get his game time up if he wants to make an impact on Mauricio Pochettino’s senior squad in the future.

“I’m excited to get going again and I can’t wait for the new season to start. It was a no brainer to come back and the option was always there. I think it will be a lot better for my progression to spend another year here and I didn’t feel right leaving with how last season finished. Marcelo Bielsa has brought me along a lot as a player and I think this season will be even better getting another full campaign under him. Physically I felt I developed a lot by playing professional football and I’ve improved my movements, which has brought me on massively. By coming back it gives me more of a chance of playing first team football and that is all I want to do. Hopefully, I can get a run of games under my belt starting and see where it goes from there.”

Head still seems screwed on right and Bielsa isn’t the kind of man to give him a pass on the back of the move, so he’ll have to earn his game time and that’s exactly how it should be.
