Burnley boss Steve Cotterill has told the clubs official website that the former Leeds United striker Robbie Blake needed no persuasion to return to The Clarets and had “unfinished business.”

The 31-year old striker was once a fans favourite but moved in 2005 to the Midlands, though played just 11 games for Birmingham City before joining Leeds United in the summer of the same year. During his time at Elland Road, Blake managed 20 goals in 63 games and following the clubs relegation has re-joined his old club, marking his debut with a late equaliser (albeit via a deflection) in their 1-1 draw with Accrington.

Cotterill said: ‘Once Robbie knew we were interested he didn’t need much convincing.

‘He said to me that he had unfinished business really, so that was good.”
