Building player criticism is premature, some Leeds fans have very short memories

The weekend is gone now and we must try to move on from that and focus on the remaining games in the league.

Without doubt, the loss to Sheffield United was far from ideal but, at the same time, there is also hope for the future as we remain well in contention as we head into the final games of the year.

We must stick together, though, and it was a bit of concern to see the stick Barry Douglas got on Twitter for his performance when he came on.

You only have to search for his name on Twitter to see the criticism about him and, of course, he did struggle Saturday and he has not had the season he would have liked.

Those criticising, though, have got short memories and it would be best if they actually looked at what we’ve got in him.

He’s a player who knows how to get promoted – how many of them do we have? Whilst he is also a quality player with that left foot, let’s not forget why we signed him.

Defensively, he is a bit suspect but he’s also struggled with injuries and fitness this year, if he had a run of games he’d not be struggling as much as he is.

He’ll come good, then, he just needs time.
