Brighton striker Glenn Murray has heaped praise on defender Ben White after his excellent start to the season at Leeds and the defender was recently awarded Man of the Match after an impressive display in their 1-0 win over mid-table Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

He has featured in all of the White’s games this season in the Championship, with the club unbeaten in 5 games and conceding just 10, the lowest in the division:

“It’s absolutely no surprise to me.

“He’s gone out and done fantastic at Leeds, and he’s stepped into some big boots with Pontus Jansson leaving at the end of last season.

“He’s stepped in there and led by example at such a tender age.

“He’s agile, he’s very very composed on the ball, and I think that’s why Bielsa likes him. But we think very highly of him at Brighton.”

The youngster 22, also made an assist at Luton Town in a previous game, with former Leeds’s players such as Noel Whelan singling him out for his performances.

White, a centre-back by trade, has been linked with moves to Premier League giants Liverpool with an offer of £20 million reported to be made in January by Jürgen Klopp.

Manchester United have also been keeping tabs on him according to the Mirror.

Marcelo Bielsa brought him is as a replacement for Pontus Jansson and he has certainly made an eye-catching statement so far this season in the heart of the United defence.
