Leeds Word On The Tweet

“This’ll be the game that relegates us” – Loads of Leeds fans react to fixture update

|

Loads of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media, after the club announced ticketing details for our trip to Brentford on Tuesday, February 11.

The club will travel to Griffin Park next month looking to bring a halt to our torrid record in London, as Saturday’s defeat at Queens Park Rangers made it one win in our last 19 visits to the capital.

Losing at Loftus Road did more than just extend a run of form we would all love to leave in the past, but saw the Play-Off positions creep closer as third-placed Fulham beat Middlesbrough to move within four points of the Whites.

We had held a six-point lead over the Play-Off places heading into last weekend, which itself was three points weaker than the week before given Marcelo Bielsa and his men sat atop the table on January 10 with a nine-point advantage over third.

Results have not been in our favour of late with Bielsa only overseeing one win in our last seven league games, having taken seven wins in a row before that.

Our form since, and including, drawing 3-3 with Cardiff City on December 14 is only the 20th best record in the division, and only Charlton Athletic, Birmingham City and Luton Town have clinched fewer points.

Will we secure automatic promotion?

Yes

No

Current league-leaders West Bromwich Albion have not faired much better, though, as the Baggies have taken the 19th most points since December 14 having claimed one more draw than we.

But dropping points has left a lot of the Elland Road faithful feeling dismayed by the prospect of promotion, and some let their feelings be heard when the club announced when tickets will go on sale for next month’s trip to Brentford.

United will have an away contingent of approximately 1,600 at Griffin Park, with supporters able to purchase tickets based on the club’s away allocation tracker for the 2019/20 season from Wednesday, January 22 at 10:30.

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to the club’s post updating supporters on news of our fixture with Brentford…

In other Leeds United news, a £10.8m-rated striker is likely to stay away from Elland Road this month.
