“Own up Andrea”, “So it’s true?” – These Leeds fans react to update on sought-after star’s future

A few Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media, after the Hull Daily Mail shared an update into the future of Hull City’s star forward Jarrod Bowen.

The Leominster-born attacker is a highly sought-after talent during the January window, with admirers dotted around the country following his stellar efforts at the KCOM Stadium in recent seasons.

Though, as of yet, the Tigers are yet to see their prized asset leave, and signs in East Yorkshire are thought to be offering City fans plenty of encouragement that Bowen will be aiding their promotion chase this term.

Most Premier League sides have been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old, while West Bromwich Albion and United are said to be representing the second-tier in the auction room.

Hull have held informal talks with some of the interested parties, with one believed to have put forward a loan-to-buy deal, only to be informed that the Tigers will not entertain any such offer as only an outright £20million sale would be considered.

Bowen is not currently agitating for a move away from the KCOM and is content with life at Hull, where he has a very strong relationship with head coach Grant McCann.

Do you think Radrizzani would back a £20m move for Bowen?

Yes

No

Despite their £20m asking price scaring off some of the interest, Hull are concerned over Bowen’s on-going contract uncertainty as three months have now passed since they last put forward an extension.

The deal would have kept Bowen at City until 2022, though the financial aspects – including a 30 per cent pay rise – did not meet the forward’s demands, and the Tigers may have no choice but to sell him this summer after triggering their one-year extension clause.

Bowen has scored 16 goals in 27 Championship fixtures this season and has been credited with five assists.

In other Leeds United news, the club are claimed to be mulling over a bid to sign a towering £3million star this month.
