Kevin Blackwell believes the Bramall Lane crowd are the key to whether Sheffield United survive in the Premiership next season.

Blackwell, who quit his post as Neil Warnock’s assistant in 2003 to become coach at Leeds before being named manager at Elland Road in the summer of 2004, saw his side hit back to earn a 1-1 draw in a fiercely-contested Yorkshire derby.

Blackwell: ‘The atmosphere here was unbelievable and they’re going to need that next season. It’s very important that the fans stay with them.’
